Understanding Onboard DC to DC Converters | New Training Module

Traditionally, DC to DC converters were used in automotive applications as a form of voltage regulation – reducing system operating voltages to stable reference levels for the operation of sensors and electronic control units.

Battery electric vehicles introduce a much greater level of onboard energy storage, requiring more robust and complex DC-to-DC converters that reduce traction battery voltages from around 800 VDC to nearly 14 VDC.
In the latest addition to our EV Electrical & Control Systems training course, you will gain an insight as to how DC-DC conversion works in an electric vehicle, and why this technology is so important for the continued operation of the vehicle.

This module will be the latest addition to our growing library of over 350 technical training videos, covering the following key areas:

Electrical   |   Engine   |   Chassis   |   Drivetrain   |   Driver Assist
HVAC   |   Diagnostics   |   Servicing   |   Hybrid & Electric Vehicles
